About the event
The LSA Student Award showcases student creativity, recognising outstanding talent among students who are embarking upon or developing careers in the visual arts. The competition is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in a fine art course in Leicestershire in 2024. The exciting all-media show includes works created by eighteen finalists, resulting in an exciting range of art forms and techniques.
Before announcing the Winner of the 2024-25 Award, LSA artist and Chair Deborah Bird will give a short illustrated talk about her month-long residency investigating and responding to the effects of erosion in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona.
Since 1881, the Leicester Society of Artists has encouraged the practice and appreciation of fine art in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The prize is a £500 cash prize with two £100 cash prizes going to each of two runners up. The Award is funded thanks to the generosity of L…
