The Nevill Holt Private Art Collection with Albany Bell

LSA members can enjoy a private tour of Nevill Holt Hall led by curator and collection manager Albany Bell.  Members will be allocated a time slot at random. We will gain behind-the-scenes access to the beautiful 13th-century private house, home to one of the finest private collections of British Pop Art and Modern British masterpieces.  Highlights include works by Bridget Riley, David Hockney, Peter Blake, Pauline Boty, Gerald Laing, Patrick Caulfield and many more. Throughout its history, the estate’s many famous owners have championed the arts, from the Kirkby and Nevill families to the Cunards and now its current owner David Ross, who has spent 12 years on the estate’s restoration.

Note: Members are not permitted to sketch/paint within the house itself.

4:00 pm David Ross in Conversation with Andy Goldsworthy

Seminal British artist Andy Goldsworthy works with natural materials, including rocks, ice, leaves and branches, documenting the passage of time in nature. In this unique conversation, he discusses his life and practice with Andrew Marr one of the UK's most familiar broadcasters and authors.

5:00 pm Making the Invisible Visible - Nic Fiddian-Green

Nic Fiddian-Green is one of the most celebrated British sculptors, renowned for his iconic equine works. Nic’s devotion to the subject of the horse was sparked by a trip to the British Museum in 1983, where he was struck by the equine sculptures of the Parthenon. Enraptured by the classical Greek principles of grace, beauty, serenity and harmony, he has remained devoted to the subject of the horse ever since.  His monumental Horse at Water (2010) can be seen within the grounds of Nevill Holt
